We recommend either 9 – 10 foot single handed rods or 13 – 15 foot double handed rods with 8 or 9 weight floating lines, although conditions can also call for sink tips or intermediate lines. Though it’s nice to fish with a double-hand rod during periods of heavy wind, most of the fishing can be accomplished with a single-hand rod; rod selection ultimately comes down to a matter of personal preference.
