Still decent guitars. Body in good cosmetic shape. Like Fender, Kramer had an outstanding budget MIJ series. Ready to play! Yes, Gibson owns the Kramer brand, and uses Musicyo as it's distributor for them.
In your case, The Pacer and Baretta series is what you want though. Kramer Focus VT-211S Electric Guitar The Kramer Focus VT-211S is a great beginner electric guitar for the young rocker! I did some search on the net for the Kramer Focus VT-111s but I found something completely different. There was a Maple Baretta, that is considered the Holy Grail. There are only 3 or 4 shops that sell guitars here and they dont have many models to chose from. anyone who knows an international site that ships Kramer ?

So thanks for your suggestions but they are way out of my league.In my opinion, considering where you are, and how tight your budget is, I would think that it is a good buy. The Pacer and Baretta series is what you want though. Check to see if the volume and tone knobs make noise
It looks very nice, cherry sunburst, white perloid pickguard, binded maple neck, Gotoh tuners, black pickups with covered magnet poles and a tremolo that the salesman says differs from Fender in the ability to bend up and down. recomend a Yamaha Pacifica or a Squier '51 to a beginner. And even the models that are very cheap in US or UK are almost double the prices here, sometimes more. The Focus. I Free P&P . Most of the saerch results show a Kramer Focus VT-111s that is made by a company called Music Yo (www.musicyo.com) and the guitar looks very different, more like a Fender Strat and it costs US$75!! Still decent guitars. Whichever you like better is the one to pick but it's not really any better than an Affinity Squier.
I doubt there is any substantive difference between the two guitars, certainly not $200 worth.That guitar you're showing looks nothing like a VT-111S which were selling for around $80 new.there was one like that in a shop near my houser great neck and stuff but it was an original import which was made out of plywood compositeMost of the early Striker/Focus series is Plywood composite. Maybe you can ask that luthier you mentioned to do a set up for you, to make sure it is as easy to play as possible, or negotiate one at the shop where you are buying it. choice of a crappy guitar or no guitar, I'd take a crappy one any time. Now I am confused. There are some differences: the one that i saw has a different bridge and tremolo, the neck is binded maple and the head is angled back. That Focus series covered all of the major Kramer models at the time, including the Pacer and Baretta, and were startlingly good for their price point. !.
