Are you getting any codes? Have you noticed a loss of water/coolant? Not overheat, but get to the 3/4 mark on the temperature gauge on the dash. If you are not getting any engine codes or warnings and the temp gauge seems to be reading normal, you may not have anything to worry about. I changed the thermostat, the water pump, the sensor. If your cooling fans are broken your car will overheat while idling but you will still get heat from your ventilation system. A/c works fine and the fan kicks on to cool the engine.
A tiny hole or crack in one of the radiator hoses could actually be creating the problems you’re experiencing.

Hi, having a few issues with LS2 6.0ltr engine it making a pinging knocking noise, only happens when at full temperature and after driving for 30mins, it has been to my mechanic he struggled to diagnose this problem.
